This temple is located in the ancient city of Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu approximately 75 km from Chennai, is one of the holiest places of worship for Hindus as it is associated with Sri Sankaracharya. The key objective was to restore and enhance the historic temple. This was to be achieved by keeping in mind the past traditions and future requirements of the temple and in consultation with all the stakeholders. The nandhavanam, chariot pathway and pond act as key design elements. Solar panels, bio gas plant RWH systems are all green initiatives present in the site.
